It's mandated in the Constitution - every ten years we must count the number and location of the people living within the US so that we can have fair and equitable representation in Congress.  But it's more that that - the census numbers also determine the amount of state and federal funding communities will receive.  Information from the census helps shape decisions for the next ten years about public health, neighborhood improvements, transportation, education, senior services, and the list goes on.

On the next Another View we'll talk about the 2010 Census - what it means, why we do it, and why it is critical that you participate.  Plus, we'll find out about the Best Kept Secret in Hampton Roads.  Join us for Another View, Friday, January 15 at 9P on WHRO-TV.
